I'm baaaack!

It's been far too long since my last post. But now, after the new year, I finally am starting to feel like I'm getting back into the swing of things. The first week of January we had three snow days at work, then the second week I was home sick for two days. After I recovered, I spent the weekend in Oklahoma City. Believe it or not, I returned with all my phalanges. Last week we only worked four days because of MLK Jr. Day. This is my first full week of work in 2010 and MAN, do I feel it. It's only Tuesday.

For all of you who don't know, there's a rather big sporting event going on this Saturday in Manhattan, KS. I think this weekend will be a mini-reunion for all of us former college students. The festivities begin Friday evening, should be a great weekend! I don't have an actual ticket to the game but my friends and I will be right at home in our favorite sports bar in Aggieville. Let's hope we all remember we're not in college anymore. These marathon weekends don't feel the way they used to on Mondays.

I was thinking I should put some interesting links for you all to look at. Instead, I'm short of time so I will ask for input. So, peeps, what are your favorite websites??? For news, interesting facts, cleberity slamming, whatever! I usually stick to MSN for sound bytes of news and other human-interest stories. If you haven't checked out thesuperficial.com by now, please do. It's not for everyone but if you like some good celebrity gossip every now and then, that's my favorite. The write is absolutely hilarious. Yesterday he posted some quality pictures of Donatella Versace with a nice commentary. Remember the old woman who is constantly sunning in "There's Something About Mary?" I didn't think people like her really existed. Ergo, Donatella Versace.

That's all for now folks. Will look forward to checking out your websites and judging you based upon your recomendations. I kid, I kid.

Third snow day in a row, I'm getting a cold. This is what I get for not going to work! I'll be back tomorrow. NyQuil and HGTV are in my future.

Take 2

Today was another snow day and I honestly didn't think life could get any better. Behold! Snow day three tomorrow! Life is good. I could get used to 5-day weekends. Today was spent with a good friend. Trying to get some qt in before she leaves again tomorrow to go back to Spain.

TOUCHDOWN TEXAS!!!!!

OK, I'm back. We ran some errands this morning. Encountered far too many crazies on the roads. A man driving a Roadway semi-truck almost ended our lives. Yeah, that was dramatic but true nonetheless. I have his truck number saved in my phone. I need to figure out how to report him to his peeps. Other than that, just the usual winter weather driving situations. Multiple cars stuck in the snow. Not to toot my own horn people, but my car has rear-wheel drive and I made it around and out of the city without driving myself into a mountain of snow. Pull it together.

I forgot I promised a movie review today. We watched Away We Go last night. Usually if I start a movie after 9:00pm I'm guaranteed to fall asleep a quarter of the way in. I did fall asleep for a little bit but I awoke and finished the movie. So, it gets my vote! The movie was about a young couple, living on love, with a baby on the way. The little guy has one set of living grandparents and his parents recently moved closer so they could be together. Alas, the grandparents decide they want to move to Belgium. (Mom and Dad: If you're reading this, don't even try it.) With the news, the pregnant couple goes on a search around the country to find a new home close to family members or friends. One of the people they visit is Jim Gaffigan. Excellent. After all of the ups and downs they end up at the the mother's parents house/set of grandparents that aren't living. When they arrive they know they have found their new home, even though they are alone. Touching.

I need to get back to the football game. It's 24-13 Alabama right now. I haven't lost faith, hook 'em Horns. After that, I'll be watching videos of Mariah Carey at the People's Choice Awards last night. That's two nights in a row, Mariah. I think I'll retract the coma comment, you're entertaining me.

Snow Day

Hey peeps! Today was a snow day, tomorrow is a snow day. Life couldn't be better. This morning I took in a good amount of HGTV before hitting the town with some friends. We went to New Moon (again), shopping at Target and dinner at Houlihans. That's the stuff dreams are made of. In my down time I watched an amazing video of Mariah Carey's acceptance speech from last evening. I encourage you all to check it out. My suggestion to Mariah: drink yourself into a self-induced coma next time. We need a break.

That's all for now. Going to watch Away We Go. I'll be back tomorrow with a review.

This is it!

After being inspired by poking my head around in the world of blogging, here I am. Today is the day I bite the bullet. Already as I correct my texting-type mistakes, I wonder if this is a good idea? That brings me to my disclaimer. Readers: DO NOT GET EXCITED. My life is not too terribly interesting or different from yours. I'm not a celebrity, or even a local celebrity.

Today is a day just like any other day. This morning, as I was running late to work, there was a five-vehicle accident in my (yes, my) roadway. Although I did encounter some decent people on the road (OK there was ONE man who let me merge into his lane) most of the people were RUDE. Hello fellow morning travelers, we're all in the same boat here. We're all going to be late to work/school/flights etc. So, as I let people merge into my lane in front of me, I felt good about helping those people out, as I had previously been helped myself. That was my good deed for the day and at that point it was only 8:00am. This is going to be a long one.

In my pensive state, I'll leave you with this.
